I love how this paper makes a beautiful Dahlia Flower with such striking contrast:

Garden Greetings Birthday

September 24, 2009

Many of you may remember that “Garden Greetings” is one of my favorite stamp sets and unfortunately I found it on the “Dormant List” in July 2009.  This means that the set is still available for purchase but not pictured in the current 2009 – 2010 Idea Book and Catalog.  So, I’m on a mission to continue to share this set with you all year to see if we can get it back in the catalog!  I hope it doesn’t retire because even when I’m not stamping the flowers from this set, I find myself using the sentiments over and over and over on many of my cards and projects.  I made this birthday card for some special people who are having birthdays in early October…hopefully the post won’t ruin the surprise!

Stamps: Garden Greetings
Paper: Ballet Blue, So Saffron, Rose Red
Ink: Basic Black, Ballet Blue, So Saffron, Rose Red
Other: Rose Red 1/4′ grosgrain ribbon, ticket corner punch

Emboss Resist Results #2

July 31, 2009

Thanks for checking back again for the second of three emboss resist results!  Here’s the swatch I worked on this week:

I LOVE mellow moss!  It is such a soft, soothing color.   Two down, one to go!  The Apricot Appeal is the last swatch to make it onto a card…soon!

What do you think of the Mellow Moss resist card?

mellow moss resist

Stamps: Stampers Anonymous, SU Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: mellow moss and chocolate chip
Paper: very vanilla, mellow moss, mellow moss dsp (hostess level 1)
Other: word window punch, vintage brads

This is a great guy’s birthday card.  I don’t know why but using patterned paper is a challenge for me!  I think I just often forget about the beautiful patterned papers, so they never make it onto my cards.

Botanical Happy Birthday!

July 21, 2009

Although the Botanical Blooms stamp set is retired (as of last month), I still love its simplicity.  It makes beautiful birthday cards.  (or any occassion really)

Here are birthday cards I made for my sister-in-law Amy and my friends Penny and Cindy who all celebrated recent birthdays!

Happy Birthday Ladies!
